SUMMARY

Ideally, candidate currently based or able to relocate to Central NY or our New England geography.

The Regional Pharmacy Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day pharmacy operations for all pharmacy departments within a designated district/region.  Pharmacy operations include promoting high operational standards, involvement with growing department sales, controlling inventory levels, improving gross margins, exceeding customer service levels, developing efficient and effective workflow patterns, recruiting/hiring pharmacists, managing personnel issues, and ensuring compliance with State/Federal laws along with Third Party regulations.  An effective Regional Pharmacy Manager will ensure proper pharmacy operations through store visits, operational audits, frequent communication, and annual pharmacy review process.  A candidate will possess strong skills in organization, time management, and communication. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing pharmacy operations for all departments within designated districts/region
  • Manage budget to lead to increased profitability in the areas of sales, gross margins, inventory, generic dispensing, Cardinal purchases, returns processing, back-up wholesaler purchases, staffing, and expenses
  • Ensure all pharmacies and staff are compliant with State and Federal laws & regulations that govern the practice of pharmacy as well as HIPAA and Third-Party contracts through store visits, operational audits, frequent communication, and the semi-annual pharmacy review process
  • Oversee wage expenses to ensure dollars and personnel hours are utilized to their fullest extent without sacrificing service or safety. Monitor staffing, vacations, personal holidays, leaves, and floating Pharmacists
  • Gather and contribute data for effective marketing strategies, including pharmacy pricing decisions, special ads, and targeting specific drugstore competition
  • Maintain proper inventories (brand-generic mix) for various pharmacy volumes
  • Evaluate staff performance, follow up on personnel issues, provide support/guidance/training, and assist in recruitment of staff
  • Effectively convey, promote, and enforce all Pharmacy programs and policy standards to Store Managers and Pharmacy teams

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal); strong interpersonal and supervisory skills. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel as needed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficient with pharmacy software/management system and MS office applications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s/Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy management experience
  • Licensed and Registered Pharmacist in good standing within the state of practice
