SUMMARY

The Central Fill Pharmacy Team Coordinator manages the Central Fill ancillary staff (including Certified Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacy Technician and Pharmacy Teammate) by providing constant feedback and assessing their work performance. Primary day-to-day responsibilities include managing workflow, creating schedules, and delegating tasks. The Central Fill Pharmacy Team Coordinator will also be responsible for the training and onboarding of new hires, managing time and attendance, and aiding in workflow when required.

In addition, the Central Fill Pharmacy Team Coordinator will oversee and optimize daily activities within the pharmacy. This position will manage and redistribute pharmacy inventory to meet both the Central Fill Pharmacy and community pharmacy location needs, optimizing automation efficiency, overseeing policy and procedure to meet accreditation standards, and providing efficient/accurate prescription dispensing to maintain the workflow of the pharmacy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in and maintain optimal workflow, organization, and continuity of prescription processing.
  • Coordinate the schedule for the Central Fill Pharmacy ancillary staff. (including Certified Phar-macy Technician, Pharmacy Technician and Pharmacy Teammate)
  • Maintain time and attendance for all Central Fill Pharmacy staff.
  • Perform training and retraining of Central Fill Pharmacy staff.
  • Ensure trainings are consistent with and kept according to accreditation standards.
  • Assess performance and identify performance improvement opportunities for direct reports through ongoing communication.
  • Supports pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, redistribution and returns management.
  • Coordinate transfer of inventory between Central Fill and community-based pharmacy locations to facilitate inventory sell through.
  • Oversee and manage activities prior to and during quarterly inventory count.
  • Ensure current training procedures are accurate and effective.
  • Assist in coordination of policy and procedure with pharmacy trainings to ensure the Central Fill Pharmacy meets or exceeds accreditation standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee activities of quarterly performance improvement committee with an emphasis on workflow and efficiency advancement to encourage growth of the facility.
  • Support ongoing operation of pharmacy workflow.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for technology improvements to increase efficiency of automation within department.
  • Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey information both verbally and in writing
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-year previous experience in pharmacy

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • Prior experience in management and scheduling
  • Prior central fill pharmacy experience
  • Prior pharmacy leadership experience
